Resellers Permit OverviewOn January 1st of the coming year, Washington State will change the requirements for purchasing product for resale (without paying sales tax.) This is a large task for wholesalers, and will require us to collect a new document from each of our customers. The state is offering no grace period for these new requirements, so we thought we'd get as early a start as we can. Effective January 1st, 2010, our existing "Resale Certificates" (also known as tax cards) that you have filled out with each of your wholesale vendors will be replaced by a new "Resellers Permit." Washington Floral will be required to have a copy of each customers Reseller Permit in order to continue tax-free sales of product. Many of you will be receiving you new Resellers Permit from the state automatically some time during September or October. Please help us out and send us a copy right away! Others will have to apply to the state for their Resellers Permit. Our aim is to make this change as seamless as possible, and to collect all the resources you may need into one place. The Basics....If you get your Resellers Permit in the mail your job will be easy. Each of your Washington State "wholesale" vendors will be asking for a copy of your new permit sometime soon. Keep a pile of them around, or mail them out with checks. It'll make everyone's life easier.
