UPS Alert SMS Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Washington Floral collects, uses, and protects information in connection with the text message (SMS) alerts sent by our Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) monitoring system. By receiving these alerts, you acknowledge the practices described below.
1. Information We Collect
To deliver UPS alert text messages, Washington Floral collects and uses the following information:
- Mobile phone number — the recipient number configured to receive UPS alert messages.
- Opt-in and consent records — documentation that the recipient has been enrolled to receive these operational alerts.
- Message delivery data — carrier delivery status and timestamps used to confirm alerts were sent successfully.
No payment card data, account passwords, or sensitive personal health information is collected or transmitted through this SMS service.
2. How We Use Your Information
The information collected above is used solely to:
- Deliver operational UPS status and power-event alerts to the enrolled recipient.
- Monitor delivery of those alerts and troubleshoot failures.
- Comply with carrier and regulatory requirements for A2P 10DLC messaging.
We do not use SMS-derived data for marketing, promotional, or advertising purposes.
3. Sharing of Your Information
Washington Floral does not sell or rent the information collected through this SMS service. Information is shared only with the following categories of service providers, strictly to deliver and operate the alert service:
- Messaging providers (e.g., Twilio) that transmit the SMS messages over carrier networks.
- Email relay providers (e.g., SMTP2GO) used to route the underlying alert emails.
- Cloud platform providers (e.g., Microsoft 365 / Power Automate) used to process incoming alerts and trigger the SMS.
These providers are bound by their own privacy and security obligations and are permitted to use the information only to provide the services described above.
4. Data Retention
Mobile number and consent records are retained for as long as the recipient remains enrolled in the UPS alert service. Delivery logs are retained for a limited operational period to support troubleshooting and are then deleted. Upon opt-out (see Section 5), the mobile number is removed from active alert distribution.
5. Your Choices & Opt-Out
You may opt out of UPS alert text messages at any time by:
- Replying STOP to any alert message, or
- Contacting Washington Floral at the contact information below and requesting removal.
After opting out you will receive no further UPS alert text messages. For help or support, reply HELP to any alert message.
6. Data Security
Washington Floral protects the information collected for this service using administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to its sensitivity. Access to recipient mobile numbers and delivery data is restricted to authorized personnel involved in operating the UPS alert system.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued receipt of UPS alert messages after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
